A lifetime of love — These eyes are tired,
blurred with fond remembrance,
the haze of summer days
when we raced together,
fingers and hearts intertwined,
through golden stalked fields
and determined dreams. These eyes are fading,
the substance subsiding,
changing,
nothing more to see
that has not been lovingly seen,
as we travel more slowly
into infinite direction,
the light around us
growing dim.
